Book Signing Success!

Casa Borinquen hosted an exclusive book signing and art/photo exhibit on Sunday, April 3rd. It was a full house. Everyone enjoyed schmoozing with the author, Lillian Aragones, while she autographed their copy of her book, Lily:A Collection of Poems & Reflections.

Those who attended the event also had the opportunity of perusing an exhibit of the author's paintings and the photography in the book.

Casa Borinquen provided a traditional Puerto Rican cuisine which received rave reviews by everyone.

My sincerest thanks Casa Borinquen for their support of me and the arts and to everyone who purchased a book.

A portion of the proceeds goes to the American Asthma Foundation in memorium of my mother, Santa Colon

She has become involved in advocating for FM through her paintings, writing and photography. She has attended several statewide events on FM, most recently in Trenton where the State Senate signed a Resolution for FM Awareness.
She also initiated the signing of a Proclamation by New Jersey State Governor, Jon Corzine in recognition of FM Awareness.

The poems written in this book are of the transitions, emotions and reflections the author has recorded through the period of her having to re-invent herself due to her disabling illness, recent divorce and finding her inner strengths.

She continues to work in all aspects of her creative talents. A future book, A Photographic Journal of Fibromyalgia: Making it Visible will take some time to accomplish, but will be a labor of love.

Christmas Day Book Signing Surprise!

Wow... where do I begin? There has been so much going on in my world these past few months, that I don't know how to begin or what to include... so, to trim it down some... here we go.

Since the publishing of my first ever book, Lily: A Collection of Poems & Reflections, I have moved into a really nice active adult community. I love my new apartment and can't wait to take advantage of the amenities it has to offer. I also lost my dearest mother unexpectedly. Yes, she was a week shy of 96 years of age, but unexpectedly, nonetheless. For some reason, Mami, was looking forward more so than ever to her spending a bit more time on this Earth. So, her passing on took me quite by surprise... and although I had said to myself a few years ago that, "I was 'ok' whenever she felt she was ready to go", I was still taken aback.

Moving, Mami's passing, the car accident I had a week after all of this, finding love and getting my studio together has all but thrown me into a Fibromyalgia Flare-up. Somehow I have managed to keep that at bay. Thank G-d!

The one thing I have not been able to do... a lack of time more than anything... is order any books of my own to autograph and sell. I must say, thank G-d for family and friends who have gone out to purshase my book and who have remained loyal...

So, in the midst of all of this I was invited to a Christmas Day Party at my niece's, Alexandra and Rocco Sileo's house. I was surprised to find that they had all been given a copy of my book for the holidays and they had set up a Book Signing for me. It was awesome... about 10 copies went out that day... all specially signed to it's new owner.

Well, I will be ordering my books and getting them ready for a book signing. So, stay in touch... I will be posting.
